Woollensbrook Donate to local charity
In November 2018 Woollensbrook manager Jason King met the team at Teens Unite Fighting Cancer to present them with a donation for £4000.
Teens Unite Fighting Cancer is a local Broxbourne run charity that helps children whose lives are impacted by cancer. They provide workshops, activity days and residential stays for children who are fighting cancer or are in remission. Teens Unite help them live a normal childhood while providing support and encouragement. Debbie Pezzani, CEO and co-founder of Teens Unite was very grateful to be considered for the donation. 'The money will help us towards our dream of providing the first purpose-built retreat for children battling cancer called the 'House of Teens Unite', we are so grateful to Woollensbrook Crematorium'.
Jason explains how the money is raised, 'We are very proud that bereaved families allow us to recycle the metals that remain following a cremation. This is sensitively recycled by a specialist company and the funds raised are returned to the crematorium. We then donate this to a local charity whereby this fantastic amount of money will have a real impact. Without the help of the families we would not be able to do this so I would like to say a big thank you on behalf of Woollensbrook and the charities we support.
